HP-MCSA: Automatic combination balance/ crusher/ splitter (mortar crusher)

Specially designed for requirements of extractive industry
HP-WCSA is the perfect machine for weighing, crushing and splitting. Due to its modular design, it can be easily combined with other components. The fully automatic machine was specially designed for the requirements for the handling of large samples of various coarse ores, minerals and similar materials. Using the building block principle, this modular machine contains a weighing device, a sample lift, a jaw crusher, a linear splitter with a variable splitting ratio based on current ISO norms. The software controls allow completely flexible splitting of aliquot portions.

Fully automatic sample preparation
Automatic feed and discharge magazines significantly increase the sample output and manpower efficiency. Large coarse sample received in the laboratory are manually loaded into the sample containers of the feed magazine. The operating parameters are preselected at the integrated control panel and the automatic weighing, crushing and splitting cycle starts. All sample preparation steps are fully automatic without the need for an operator's intervention. 

Safe and ergonomic operation
The machine is totally enclosed and sound insulated. Safety switches automatically deactivate the machine in case of operational malfunctions, which are displayed at the integrated control panel.

Flexible use
The machine is equipped with integrated pneumatic and electrical control cabinets and PLC controls. This allows the machine to run individually or in combination with any other modular machine. The HP-WCSA is a fully automatic stand-alone machine or can be perfectly integrated into linear or robot automations.

HP-CM AUT: Automatic mortar crusher

Specially designed for minmal material loss and contamination
The HP-C/M AUT has been designed based on the strict requirements for crushing of catalytic converter. The material recovery in the machine is substantially more than 99%. The cleaning procedure within the machine is efficiently avoiding cross contamination between sample batches. The HP-CM AUT complies completely with the strict requirements of the PGM recycling industry. The machine can also be used for a variety of other material types.

Feeding of large pieces
The HP-CM AUT is suitable for standard mobile emission catalysts with a maximum diameter of 200 mm. Dependent on the selected gap width of the mortar crusher the end fineness is between 1 and 5 mm. This output grain size is optimal for further processing within a fine grinding mill to prepare the material for analytical methods like, e.g., fire assay, borate fusion, ICP, AA or wet chemistry.

Safe and ergonomic operation
The crushed material is caught in a container positioned below the mortar crusher output. After crushing is finished the container is transported to the output position and is ready for further material handling. Simultaneously, the automated compressed air cleaning cycle of the machine is initiated.
Safety measures like, e.g., the locking device on the input flap fulfill highest safety requirements. The extremely sturdy construction of the welded sectional steel frame and all other components guarantee trouble-free performance and long machine life.

Automatic control of operation procedure
The sample material is inserted in stainless-steel cups into the manual insertion point or in an insertion magazine. The cup is emptied automatically when the machine is started. The operation cycle is executed in accordance with the preselected processing parameters such as duration of crushing and cleaning time. Following the crushing process, the pre-crushed sample material is poured back into the insertion cup and returned to the insertion position by the internal transport system. After each crushing cycle, the jaw-breaker is cleaned automatically by compressed air. The resulting residual dust must be removed by an external dust exhaust facility. 

Wide range of different options
The automatic jawbreaker, Model HP-C can easily be combined with other modular HERZOG machines such as feed and discharge magazines, an automatic pulverizing mill, Model HP-M and an automatic pellet press, Model HP-P.

Perfectly suited for laboratory operation
The HP-C automatic jawbreaker is fully enclosed and insulated against noise and requires a minimum of manual intervention and maintenance. Safety switches switch off the automatic jawbreaker automatically in the event of failure of the pneumatic system.

HP-BTM: Automatic Combination crusher/ splitter/ pulverizing mill

Preparation of large sample volumes
This modular machine is designed for the preparation of coarse ores, minerals and similar materials in the range of 1 to 15 kg input weight with a particle size of less than 50 mm to split off a representative sample of approx. 250g to 1,000g of finely pulverized sample material for analysis.

Modular design
The machine consists of two individual working units: crusher/ linear Splitter (HP- BT) and mill HP- M1500. The crusher/linear splitter HP-BT is equipped with a manual sample input for coarse material, a weighing system, a lift for transporting the sample into the internal in feed position, a jaw crusher, a vibration feeder, a linear Splitter as well as an output for residue material and an input for empty sample cups. The mill HP-M1500 includes a sample take over the device from the crusher to the mill, a cup lift for transporting the sample into the grinding vessel, a sample outlet device, a cup weighing unit and a cup output transport.
 
Perfectly developed for the mining industry
The operator selects one of the available individual programs by pushing a button on a separate front panel. The input flap will open automatically. All further preparation steps including cleaning are fully automatic without the need for operator`s invention. The operator just removes the ready ground material for further processing.

HP-BTM2: Automatic combination crusher/ splitter/ pulverizing mill (2x)

Designed for large volume samples
To cover a broad range of applications the input weight can be between 1 and 15 kg. The maximum particle size, which can be introduced in the HP-BTM2, is 50 mm. The general application of the HP-BTM2 is particle size reduction and sub-sampling in order to obtain a representative sample for final analysis with X-ray fluorescence. To eliminate operational risks, the sample weights are monitored after each preparation step.

Modular design
The machine consists of the following main individual working units: Crusher/ linear Splitter (HP-BT), cup handling device (HK-RX3), 2x mill HP-M1500. The first preparation step is a size reduction done by a jaw crusher. A vibration feeder which is located below the crusher ensures a constant material flow into the subsequent linear splitting unit. The linear splitter allows a representative sub-sampling of adjustable volumes into two cups (1.5 l). Calculating the desired splitting ratio (sample/residue material) is done automatically. Residual material is discharged via a vibration feeder to a waste bucket or a de-dusting system. The cup handling between the single compounds is done by a swivel- mounted 2 axis handling device with a robot gripper. These mills allow fine grinding of the crushed material to a particle size suitable for creating a final sub-sample. This pulverized sub-sample can be used, e.g., forthe preparation of fused beads for chemical analysis by XRF.
