QES at the Launch of Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 – Supporting the Growth of Advanced Semiconductor Capabilities

QES participated in the Launch Ceremony of Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2 (IC Park 2), organised by the Selangor State Government through the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and held at CoPlace 9, Cyberjaya. The launch was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, marking a significant milestone in Malaysia’s semiconductor development journey.

The event underscored Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening its integrated circuit (IC) design and advanced semiconductor ecosystem, with IC Park 2 positioned to support the nation’s transition towards higher-value activities such as chip design, inspection, testing, validation, and advanced packaging.

Advancing Semiconductor Infrastructure and Collaboration

A key highlight of the launch was the inauguration of the QES AIM Lab (Automation, Inspection & Metrology Lab), established in collaboration with SIDEC and ASEM under the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park initiative. Located in Cyberjaya, the AIM Lab is designed to serve as a hands-on training, demonstration, and process-learning facility, supporting IC design and packaging workflows.

The lab is equipped with locally manufactured systems, reflecting QES’s commitment to nurturing local innovation, enhancing technical competencies, and strengthening Malaysia’s semiconductor supply chain.

Supporting Malaysia’s Semiconductor Roadmap

QES’s participation in this milestone event reflects our continued focus on supporting the development of advanced semiconductor capabilities in Malaysia. Through initiatives such as the AIM Lab, QES aims to contribute to workforce development, technology validation, and ecosystem collaboration across industry, academia, and government stakeholders.
